About Del Strong, artist from the Northern Rivers, Australia

Del Strong

I wrote and illustrated a series of books as teacher's resources for art published by Macmillan. The first set of three books won Australian Teachers' Resource of the year in 2005. The set to follow won the same award two years later in 2007. This led to conducting art classes in Alstonville, NSW.

I spent 6 years teaching art classes, however a serious illness halted this. Now I have had time to exhibit and I have won several awards.

Currently I see my work as a way to bring the natural world into our busy lives and ulimtately encourage others to see the beauty and energy of our surrounds.
